On the last day of the 21-days lockdown in India, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today i.e 14th April 2020, extended the lockdown till 3rd May 2020 in his speech at 10:00 AM. This lockdown 2.0 will be more strict than the previous one. All locales will be observed to check whether the rules are being followed. He said that commands will be facilitated for regions where the lockdown is executed appropriately and less new cases are enlisted till April 20. He said the legislature will discharge a definite arrangement for the lockdown tomorrow.
Modi expressed gratitude toward the individuals for following the lockdown and says the penances made by Indians over the most recent 21 days like taught troopers have helped control the spread of coronavirus in India. He says that India made opportune intercessions and this has forestalled a circumstance predominant in many created nations. He said in his speech that, “I am well aware of the problems you have faced -some for food, some for movement from place to place, and others for staying away from homes and families. However, for the sake of your country, you are fulfilling your duties like a disciplined soldier. This is the power of ‘We, the People of India’ that our constitution talks about. This display of our collective strength, by us, the people of India, is a true tribute to Baba Saheb Doctor Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Baba Saheb’s life inspires us to combat each challenge with determination and hard work. I bow before Baba Saheb on behalf of all of us.”
He said that the hotspots will be on the strict watch by the administration which risks turning out to be problem areas. The production of new problem areas will additionally challenge our difficult work and atonement. Until twentieth April, each town, each police headquarters, each region, each state will be assessed on how much the lockdown is being followed. The degree to which the region has shielded itself from Coronavirus will be noted. In any case, this permission will be restrictive, and the guidelines for going out will be exacting. PM Modi also talked about the relaxation and showed his concern towards the daily-wage earners and said that the new rules and guidelines will be made keeping them and farmers in mind. He also talked about the improving condition of the healthcare sector. He said, “the country has ample reserves of medicines, and we are making rapid progress in ramping up health infrastructure as well. From having only one testing lab for Coronavirus in January, we now have more than 220 functional testing labs. Global experience shows that 1,500-1,600 beds are required for every 10,000 patients. In India, we have arranged more than 1 Lakh beds today. There are also more than 600 hospitals which are dedicated to COVID-19 treatment. As we speak, these facilities are being increased even more rapidly.”
It is requested from the populace of India to cooperate and follow the guidelines which will soon be issued by the government. This lockdown is a great step and India needed it.
